Professor Yang is an exceptional and accomplished professional in the field of Cancer and Developmental Biology, with a wealth of experience. He got a B.S. in Plant Pathology from the National Chung-Hsing University, an M.S. in Biotechnology from the National Taiwan Ocean University, and a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology and Pharmacology from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (USA). His academic appointments at Purdue University and Roswell Park Cancer Institution, as well as his current position as an Associate Professor at the China Medical University. Throughout his career, Prof. Yang has made significant contributions to the fields of cancer biology, pharmacology, molecular oncology, and developmental biology, with a particular emphasis on the Hedgehog pathway, cancer metabolism, immunology, and drug development in cancers. His research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and he has been invited to present at prestigious institutions and conferences.
Dr. Yang’s laboratory is located at the newly developing research building on the College of Yingcai (英才學院) on the Suinan campus (水湳校區) close to Taichung Central Park. The area of the research laboratory is 14 thousand square feet in the two opening-environmental floors consisting of a laboratory, trainee room, seminar room, and PI’s office. The College of Yingcai is the central home to the faculty from multiple departments and institutes who work in cancer-related, stem cell, neuronal biology, and biomedical engineering research. It consists of 12 laboratories along with common and valuable equipment rooms shared with 12 PIs. The 12 PIs are recruited from prestigious research institutions such as MD Anderson Cancer Center and Purdue University in the US. In addition, CMU provides each PI with favorable startup funds to facilitate their initiation of laboratory setup.
