Are there any restrictions on proposal length and format of the application?

There's no limitation of pages and format at our online application platform; however, applicants shall provide related documents required by the program and the PIs.

How many interns does this program recruit?

IIPP will recruit 600 interns at most during May 2024 to February 2025. Normally, 15th September is the deadline of IIPP 2024. However, the deadline of application may be closed earlier once 600 quotas are full.

Does any deadlines for IIPP application?

The 15th of each month is the deadline of matchmaking for each batch, for example: 15th February for the May 2024 batch, 15th March for the June batch, and 15th April for the July 2024 batch and so on.

The deadline for matchmaking means applicants need to complete all matchmaking process with PI on IIPP platform till waiting for IIPP acceptance letter from IPP office.

When will I know my matching result?

After applicant and PI complete all matchmaking process on IIPP platform, then the status will shows "Waiting for IIPP to confirm" on the page of job matching. Then, interns should wait for IIPP acceptance letters to be distributed though IIPP platform around 10 weeks ahead before internship starts.

When can I confirm the details of my internship after successful matching?

The applicant will receives the acceptance letter from IIPP platform and need to submit the confirmation within one week. Only upon completion of confirmation will the internship opportunity be deemed accepted, so please do submit it.

What should I pay attention to when applying for a visa entering Taiwan?

Before you head to Taiwan, be aware of the visa-free entry period for your passport. It varies by country. Reach out to the Taiwanese embassy for assistance directly if you have visa questions.

How can I process visa after being accepted?

Interns get accepted once they receive the acceptance letter from IIPP platform. NSTC will send official documents to embassies and internship institutions as the visa material. Please contact and request the NSTC formal document from your PI directly for visa application. When you go to the embassy, please present NSTC formal document and IIPP acceptance letter for visa application or other documents which the overseas missions of the R.O.C. might request if necessary.

Do the interns have subsidy for the internship?

NSTC will provide interns with the subsidy of NT$30,000 per month during internship duration, 3 months at most. Please refer to VII. Subsidy (https://iipp.tw/program)

How do I get my subsidy?

Interns should hand in monthly report and the subsidy would be delivered by host institutions accordingly. Please refer to IX. Rights and obligations (https://iipp.tw/program).

Do I need to carry some cash to Taiwan?

We strongly suggest that you could carry USD$ 500 for in case you need in emergency.

When is the deadline to submit the final report?

The report submission date based on your internship duration. The basic report submission dates/principles are as follows:

1.Interns are expected to submit their mid-term reports on 21st of 1st and 2nd month.

2.Interns are expected to submit their final report 5 days before the end day of internship.

System generated email will sent to interns though IIPP platform 5 days before the report submission date.
