Bio-Nano Analytical Laboratory
Research Field
Prof. Yu-Fen Huang received her Ph.D. degree from National Taiwan University, Taiwan. She is currently a full professor at National Tsing Hua University, and also serves as the Chairman of Interdisciplinary Program of Nuclear Science at National Tsing Hua University. Her research includes the development and design of multifunctional nanomaterials for precision nanomedicine and cancer theranostics. She has published more than 100 scientific papers in the fields of biosensing, functional nanomaterials and cancer therapuetics.
The integration of biology and nanotechnology, drawing upon the principles and chemical pathways of living organisms as well as the structure and function of natural macro- or nano-molecules found in living cells, represents one of the most promising approaches to address critical limitations encountered in clinical trials related to detection, diagnosis, and disease treatment. Our research interests are centered on the development of multifunctional nanotools or nanotherapeutics using noble metals, transition metal chalcogenides, carbon dots, and polyphenols for biological and biomedical applications. These applications include real-time detection, cancer theranostics, and disease treatment.
