Introduction

Vincentius Surya Kurnia Adi is an assistant professor in the Chemical Engineering Department, National Chung Hsing University. His research centers on developing new insights in process synthesis and design, especially in flexibility analysis of chemical processes. He also established Process Systems Engineering (PSE) Lab on August 1, 2016. PSE Lab's research programs are mostly on the analysis, modeling, simulation, optimization, design, control, and operation of process systems.

Process Systems Engineering (PSE) Lab was established on August 1, 2016, in the Chemical Engineering Department at National Chung Hsing University. PSE Lab's research programs are primarily on analyzing, modeling, simulation, optimizing, designing, controlling, and operating process systems through artificial intelligence and machine learning as leveraging tools. The research applications include chemical, petrochemical, electrochemical, pharmaceutical, biochemical, and biomedical systems. The length of scales to be covered ranges from the molecular to the nano- and micro-scales to very large-scale production facilities and even complete supply chains.

Job Description

Independently undertaking research in the Process Systems Engineering area using the appropriate methods and/or techniques.
Producing research reports and/or publications as required by the funding body or for dissemination to the broader academic community.
Collaborating with research colleagues and support staff internally as appropriate to the research and actively developing appropriate external contacts and networks relevant to the project and to future funding opportunities.
Taking responsibility for planning and developing research methods and techniques within the framework of the research program.

Preferred Intern Education Level

The student’s educational level should be at least in undergraduate study of engineering background. The student will be exposed to PSE related software, i.e., Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, etc. 

Skill sets or Qualities

Programming skills, especially in MATLAB and GAMS programming languages, are preferred.
