Heng-Hsin Tung is a professor of Department of Nursing in National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Her research focus are geriatric care and cardiovascular care. Regarding geriatric care, she just published “Timed Up and Go test and gastrointestinal disorders among hospitalized older adults with fall risk” in  Archives of Gerontology and Geriatrics in April in 2023.  and “Tangible dynamic changes in resilience, nutrition, and leisure activity of older patients with cardiovascular disease and possible sarcopenia: A longitudinal study” in Archives of Gerontology and Geriatrics in April 2021. Also, she conducted a systematic review about physical activity in geriatric people with sarcopenia which was just published in geriatric medicine top ranking journal, which is Journal of the American Medical Directors Association in May 2018. 

        Concerning older cardiovascular research, she published “Malnutrition, family support, and possible sarcopenia in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation “in Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing in November 2021. Also, “Demoralization syndrome among cardiac transplant recipients” in  Journal of Clinical Nursing in Sep, 2021. Next, “quality of life, demoralization syndrome and health-related lifestyle in cardiac transplant recipients – a longitudinal study in Taiwan in top journal, European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing in Feb 2019. 

        Regards to research founding, Heng-Hsin is a PI of continually muti-year research project of Ministry of Science and Technology as well as PI of multiple academic-industry projects at the same time. Heng-Hsin will continue to assess needs and design appropriate intervention in older adults to optimal their quality of life. Heng-Hsin completed academic promoting ladder in 6 years, from assistant professor in 2007 and became a professor in 2013. She has totally 129 publications. In recent 5 years, she has 44 publications with 36 SCI papers and 26 of the 36 SCI Heng-Hsin was first author or correspondent. Heng-Hsin’s research performance is outstanding in nursing school.

Research focus on geriatric , cardiovascular care  and  nurse practitioner development. The founding Heng-Hsin gain can showcase the  research capacity and focus. 

Concerning received external funding, I am developing cutting age innovative resilience digital biomarker based on my previous project of resilience intervention and resilience associated factor in geriatric population. My research program founded by National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). In the past 5 years, I am the principal investigator (PI)of 2022-2025 entitle “developing and applying innovative digital resilience biomarkers among older adults with locomotive syndrome: a longitudinal qualitative and quantitative study” about 2,46 million NT dollars (8.2 thousand US dollars) funded by National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). I was the PI of 2020-2022 entitle “Efficacy of resilience intervention among older adults with probable sarcopenia” about 1.5 million NT dollars (50 thousand US dollars) funded by N NSTC. I was a PI of 2017-2020 entitle” resilience, leisure activity, and nutrition for cardiovascular disease patients with possible sarcopenia: a longitudinal qualitative and quantitative study” about 3,44 million NT dollars (10.1 thousand US dollars) funded by NSTC. To apply research results in real practice, I conduct health promotion project from central health bureau and collaborate with local health center. In addition to NSTC, I am the PI of 2022-2023 entitle “senior fitness center project “about 1,23 million NT dollars (4.1 thousand US dollars) founded by Health Promotion Administration of Ministry of Health and Welfare. This senior fitness project presents that make action to use research results to change widespread health promotion in the community.

Recently, as PI role , lead my 7 faculty including 5 from nursing department and 2 from cross disciplinary informatic engineering department to gain the 2023-2024 entitle” Next Generation Nursing Plus: High Efficient Care System” University-Industry Technology Foresight Research Project funded 8.3 million NT dollars (27,7 thousand US dollars) by NSTC .
