Energy and Optical Materials Laboratory
Research Field
Wei-Ren Liu is a Vice President of Research and Development Office of Research and Development and a full Professor in Department of Chemical Engineering, Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan. His team gathers activities on graphene-based technology, rechargeable batteries, sodium-ion batteries, lithium-ion batteries, carbon quantum dots and LED phosphors. In 2016, he won gold prize and silver prize in Pittsburgh Exhibition of Inventions and Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, respectively. Recently, he won outstanding professor in Chung Yuan Christian University in 2016 and outstanding professor prize of LCY’s Group in 2017. He is co-inventor of >30 patents and co-author of more than 200 SCI paper.
Energy and Optical Materials Laboratory involves energy materials, graphene and luminescence materials. For energy storage materials, we are interested in anode materials (Graphite, Hard carbon, Si, SiOx, TiNb2O7), cathode (NCM811, LiFePO4, Na0.7MnO2, Na0.7Mn1-xFexO2), solid electrolytes (Li7P3S11, Li10GeP2S12, Li6PS5Cl, Li3InCl6, Na3SbS4, Na3PS4) and so on. For graphene, we developed a green process to synthesize graphene with high quality. We also investigate graphene-based materials for battery, anticorrosion, heat dissipation, EMI shielding. For luminescence materials, we are interested in perovskite quantum dots, carbon dots, LED phosphors and so on.
