Polymeric Nanostructure and Biomaterial Laboratory
Research Field
Dr. Chih-Yu Kuo is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech).
Dr. Kuo received his BS (2010) and PhD (2016) in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science and Engineering at the National Taiwan University (NTU).
He completed his PhD dissertation research under the guidance of Prof. Wen-Yen Chiu and Prof. Ting-Yu Liu on stimuli-responsive, self-assembled, polymeric nanocarriers for controlled release.
He then joined the Institute of Chemistry at Academia Sinica as a postdoc in Dr. Hsien-Ming Lee’s group to investigate the interaction between membrane-active peptides and lipid bilayers.
Prior to Taipei Tech, he continued his postdoc research for hydrogel synthesis with Prof. Yi-Cheun Yeh at NTU.
Dr. Kuo started his independent research career in the Department of Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology, National Taipei University of Technology, in Aug. 2021.
Welcome to Kuo research group, Polymeric Nanostructure and Biomaterial Laboratory (PNBL) at Taipei Tech!
We design, synthesize, and fabricate block copolymers for biomedical applications including drug delivery, tissue engineering, and biosensing.
We are particularly interested in the fundamentals of small molecule transport in polymeric materials and understanding the relationship between polymer structure and their properties.
