Introduction

Dr. Arijit Karati received the M.Sc. degree in computer science from Pondicherry University, Puducherry, India in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, India, in 2018. From 2018 to 2020, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NSYSU since 2020. He is associated with the Cryptology and Network Security (CANSEC) Lab with his current research interests in applied cryptography, cybersecurity, decentralized data privacy, and automotive security. Dr. Karati has more than five years of teaching and six years of research experience. He published over thirty-five research articles and was a reviewer in many reputed (inter)national journals and conferences. He is one of the core research team members at the Taiwan Academic Cybersecurity Center (TACC). Dr. Karati was the recipient of the 108th Postdoctoral Researcher Academic Research Award from the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) in 2020. Besides, he received the Outstanding Paper Award from the International Computer Symposium, Taiwan in 2018. He served as a session chair, has given invited talks at several conferences, and has been a reviewer/ TPC member in several reputed international journals/conferences. He is a senior member of IEEE and a professional member of AMC. More details can be found at https://www.ak.canseclab.com/

The CANSEC Lab specializes in developing security protocols for contemporary communication systems. Currently, the CANSEC Lab comprises one Postdoctoral Fellow, two PhD students, and seven MS students. Our lab members engage in offering security solutions that explore modern cryptographic approaches, including ID-based cryptosystems, certificateless cryptosystems, and attribute-based encryption. Based on the aforementioned concepts, we designed specific encryption, signature, and signcryption schemes. Recently, we have started developing post-quantum cryptographic solutions to resist quantum attacks. Moreover, we design protocol suites to prevent security breaches in various application scenarios such as V2X, IoT, cloud/edge computing, and blockchain.

Research Topics
  • Applied cryptography Cybersecurity
  • Network/Communication Protection
