Phuong V. Pham is a Professor in the Department of Physics at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Taiwan. He earned his Ph.D. from the SKKU Advanced Institute of Nanotechnology (SAINT), Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), South Korea. Currently, he leads the Materials Physics and Electronic Surfaces Group (https://sites.google.com/view/phuonggroup/home) within the Physics Department at NSYSU. Professor Pham has collaborated on industrial projects with major organizations, including SAMSUNG, POSCO, and government agencies such as the Korean Government, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and the NSTC Grant Program (Taiwan). He has held various research positions, including Postdoctoral Researcher, Research Fellow, and Distinguished Research Fellow, at prestigious institutions like the School of Advanced Material Science and Engineering, SKKU, the Center for Multidimensional Carbon Materials (directed by Prof. Rodney Ruoff) at the Institute for Basic Science, South Korea, and the Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center, Zhejiang University, China. Professor Pham is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the NSF Career Award, the National Postdoctoral Award for Outstanding Young Scientists, China (2019), and the NSTC Grant Award, Taiwan (2023). Job Description
1. Synthesis of Low-dimensional materials using innovative chemical vapor deposition and integrated spray casting and RTA methods.
2. Characterize the materials' morphologies and electronic/optoelectronic properties.
3. Demonstration of computational methods in low-dimensional materials for obtaining high-performance electronics and optoelectronics.
4. Carrying out the Simulation on 2D Materials Dynamics and Growth Kinetics.
Preferred Intern Education Level
Preferred for the candidates who are presently as graduate students (MS or PhD) in foreign countries.
Skill sets or Qualities
Requirements from the graduate candidates should presently be MS or PhD student in a foreign country:
1. Good hands-on skill experience in materials science, material chemistry, surface physics, nanoengineering, and nanomaterial synthesis (1D, 2D).
2. Good communication skills in English, particularly speaking and writing.
3. Good experience in writing the scientific journals (SCI, SCIE).
4. Or Good experience in Simulation like MD, DFT, FDTD, COMSOL, Device Software on Low-Dimensional Materials, and growth kinetics.
