The mentor is from National Ilan University in Taiwan, the professor Jieh-Ren Chang. The professor's research focuses on the big data analysis, computer vision, deep learning, Internet of Things system application, fuzzy logic theory and data mining. In addition, Professor Chang teaches big data theory, fuzzy theory, engineering mathematics and computer programming in the campus. In the past few years, the professor’s research cooperated with some factories to optimize production line process and product yield. For example, using the technique like big data analysis, fuzzy theory and machine learning on battery and SSD production line and crop production efficiency. Now, the professor cooperates with the table tennis professionals. The research is focusing on using deep learning, data analysis and computer vision to analyze the worldwide top players’ strategy and habit. Then, make our players get better achievement in international competitions.

This laboratory focuses on the application of data mining technology and artificial intelligence. Data mining is to extract useful information from big data. How to use data mining technology to improve the efficiency of information retrieval and the application of smart Internet of Things system are the main field of research in this laboratory. The application of artificial intelligence is another topic, including the application and research on the neural networks, machine learning and deep learning.
