Assistant Prof. Quoc-Thai Pham is an enthusiastic and experienced researcher with expertise in chemical engineering, nanomaterial science & technology, and their applications in green and storage energy. In particular, he is interested in developing the core technology of highly safe lithium-ion batteries with excellent electrochemical properties. This core technology aims to resolve the key safety issue of preventing batteries from thermal runaway and potential explosions. Prof. Pham has successfully developed innovative advanced polymeric materials for highly safe Li-ion batteries with high capacity and energy density. Additionally, he is also interested in solid-state polymer electrolytes and their application for solid-state batteries.
Materials and Sustainable Energy Lab. at the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering-National Ilan University, we develop novel polymers and additives for applying liquid-type and solid-state lithium-ion batteries. Students with suitable backgrounds (Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials science, physics) and a studying passion are encouraged to apply to the IIPP. This program encourages more international students to participate in short-term professional internship projects. After completing this program, the students will accumulate experience in the molecular design of polymers, conventional lithium-ion, and solid-state batteries. The lab will provide the necessary equipment and materials for conducting the research.
