Chemistry

Introduction

Chen-Yu Yeh was born in 1968. He received his BS in chemistry from National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) in 1990, his MS from National Taiwan University (NTU) in 1992, and his PhD from Michigan State University in 1999 under the guidance of professor Chi-Kwong Chang. After postdoctoral studies at MIT with Professor Daniel G. Nocera and at NTU with Professor Shie-Ming Peng, he joined NCHU in 2002, where he is currently a Distinguished Professor in Chemistry since 2011.

His research covers synthesis of porphyrins and organic materials for use in new generation of solar cells including dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), organic solar cells (OSCs), and perovskite solar cells (PSCs). His group has systematically synthesized many structurally well-defined porphyrins to probe structure-properties relationship and establish the guidelines for the molecular design of high efficiency porphyrins for new generation of solar cells. His work has been published in reputed journals including ACS energy Lett., Adv. Energy Mater., Energy Environ. Sci., Angew. Chem. Int. ed., and Science
