Professor Cheng-Tang Pan’s academic research areas are nano/micro fabrication process, bio-sensors, drug delivery, motor design using ANSYS, and motor control. He won the fellowship of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) in 2022, the 14th National Innovation Award (Taiwan), and the 16th National Innovation Award (Taiwan) in 2016 and 2019, respectively. He also won the World's Top 2% Scientists 2020-2021 for two consecutive years. In 2018, he was awarded the outstanding mechanical professor award by the Kaohsiung Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering. In 2006, he was selected as the outstanding mechanical engineer award by the Kaohsiung Branch of Chinese Society Mechanical Engineering. In Sun Yat-sen University, he won Sun Yat-sen University's Industry-academic Excellence Award from 2016 to 2021, and the Research Excellence Award from 2011 to 2019. So far, Professor Pan has published more than 250 SCI international journals, more than 100 international conference papers, and has obtained more than 50 domestic and foreign patents, and completed more than 10 technology transfers to the industry.
Micro-nano System Laboratory was founded in 2003, the principal investigator of the laboratory is Professor C.T. Pan. The main research areas are nano/micro fabrication process, bio-sensors, drug delivery, motor design using ANSYS, motor control.
