Optoelectronic Engineering

Introduction

Chia-Ming Yang received his BS degree in electric engineering from Chang Gung University, Tao-Yuan, Taiwan, in 1999; MS degree in electronic engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, in 2001; Ph.D degree in electronic engineering from Chang Gung University in 2006. He was a department manager in Inotera Technology Inc. for DRAM device and retention optimization from 2006 to 2012. He joined the Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering in Chang Gung University in 2012 as an assistant professor and is an associate professor since 2015. He became the institute director and a professor since Feb. and Aug. 2018.

" In our laboratory, the major research fields focus on the developments and applications of biomedical sensing elements and systems in nanotechnology, semiconductor and optoelectronic elements. Not only are we involved in the basic knowledge and training for the basic semiconductor devices physics , the integrated circuit fabrication process, optoelectronic elements, the system of metrology and data analyzation etc, we also need to integrate the latest development of chemistry, material and biomedical fields and complete the study of interdisciplinary sensor. Now, we are focusing on the optimization of nano material for the biomedical sensor and upgrade the features of the biosensors for practical commercialization.

The cultures of our laboratory are Honesty, Initiation, Teamwork and Global perception

1.Training and development:

In the research, the essential devices must pass rigorous evaluation. In the implementation, we use the same project management strategies used in industry to accelerate the production of research results.

2. Teamwork:

Each year, to show the advancement of the students, we join the research of the National Science Council(NSC) and the industry cooperation project. The seniors of our lab are the leaders in each research team. They provide helpful guidance and have direct discussion with the juniors. We also have technology cooperation and exchanges with not only the college of medicine and the department of chemical and materials engineering in Chang Gung University, but also Inotera Memories technology company, Textile Institute and the Maisi technology company.

3. Research grants :

When you pass the exams for devices, you can get the basic research grant. In addition we encourage the students to participate in international seminars and provide enough grants.

We welcome everyone with initiation to join us!!!

4.Study abroad:

Our lab has had long-term cooperation with the Polish Institute of Biological control and Biomedical Sciences. We encourage students to apply for the National Science Council Maxima plan to expand their horizons and develop an international outlook.

5.Prospect:

We work hand in glove with Nanya Technology Corporation , so all the graduated students will have preference and the care of the seniors. You can choose from the diverse departments"
