Research Field
Ssu-Han Chen is a professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management and a deputy director in the Center for Artificial Intelligence & Data Science in Ming Chi University of Technology, New Taipei City, Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 2010. His current research interests include deep learning, digital image/video processing, large language model, and patentometrics. In the past five years, we have undertaken over 55 industry-academia collaboration projects in AI. You're welcome to join us in gaining hands-on AI experience and skills through real-world applications.
Ming Chi University of Technology established this center in August 2019. The university provided over 103 ping (approximately 340 square meters) of space for the office and classrooms. It also invested more than NT$39 million in computing equipment.
The center focuses on the research and development of Industrial Artificial Intelligence (Industrial AI). Its main goal is to combine domain expertise (X) with AI technologies to solve practical industrial problems through academia-industry collaboration (Co-Op). It also aims to cultivate AI+X talent for the industry. The key areas are listed below:
◆ Industrial AI Technologies
■ Development of component failure prediction and preventive maintenance mechanisms
■ Optimization of material combinations, scheduling, and manufacturing processes
■ Design and integration of private clouds, sensors, and IoT systems
■ System architecture for industrial image recognition and quality inspection
■ Exploration of business intelligence and management enhancement mechanisms
■ Industrial safety inspection and accident prevention
◆ Talent Cultivation
