Advanced Energy Materials Laboratory
Research Field
Dr. Tai-Feng Hung is an associate professor in the Ph. D. program of Energy and Battery Technology program at Ming Chi University of Technology, Taiwan. Before that, he was a senior researcher in the New Energy Technology Division, Energy and Environment Research Laboratories at Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taiwan (2013 ~ 2020). He was also a visiting fellow in the Materials Sciences Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA (2017 ~ 2018). His research interests focus on designing functional materials for electrocatalysts (HER, ORR, and OER) and energy storage (alkaline metal-ion batteries/capacitors and supercapacitors) applications.
Our lab is at the Battery Research Center of Green Energy (BRCGE), Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT). The basic facilities for material synthesis (microwave-assisted reactor, tube furnace, ball miller, etc.) and electrochemical analysis (potentiostat, charger, glove box) are available in our lab. We can also share all the facilities from BRCGE, such as XRD, SEM-EDX, TEM-EDX, Differential Electrochemical Mass Spectrometry, FT-IR, particle size analyzer, surface area and porosity analyzer, etc. In our group, four Ph.D. students (international) and one master's student (domestic) work on developing core materials for non-aqueous sodium-ion and aqueous zinc-ion batteries. We cordially welcome the students to join this international internship pilot program at MCUT.
