Introduction

Shu-Yen Wan is currently a professor of the department of Information Management and Graduate Institute of Management (Ph.D. program) of Chang Gung University in Taiwan. He serves as the Associate Dean for Interntational Affairs of College of Management. He is also an ajunct research fellow with the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and has collaborated with physicians working on medical-related research projects for more than ten years. His major research interests are application of artificial intelligence, medical imaging, pattern recognition, 3D modeling, and multiple criteria decision making related topics. Besides academic assignments, he has also been a Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2015.

Biomedical Informatics and Graphics (BioMIG) is located on the 5th floor of the Management Building at Chang Gung University. The laboratory boasts eight high-performance workstations, with assigned seating for graduate students engaged in research and shared lab-public seating areas for undergraduates working on senior bachelor projects. Beyond workstations, the lab is equipped with AR/VR devices, GoPros, printers, and electronic appliances. Graduates from the lab go on to pursue careers in a variety of Information Technology fields. Notably, the lab is currently involved in research projects granted by both the National Science and Technology Council and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.

Research Topics
  • Association between medical/clinical treatment/questionnaire results and medical imaging/biosignals.
  • Image processing, pattern recognition, and visualization
  • Workflow visualization
  • Various applications using artificial intelligence technology

Honor

Undergraduate students from the lab have achieved numerous awards in both intramural and inter-university competitions. A notable recent accomplishment includes securing first place in the 2023 InnoServe Information Application and Service Innovation, a prestigious event celebrating its 25th year with participation from over 100 universities. This competition is recognized as one of the largest events in the fields of Computer Science and Information Management in Taiwan.
