Published in March 2022 while serving as APO Chief Specialist in 2020 SMART MANUFACTURING: NATIONAL IMPLEMENTATION FRAMEWORK. With the framework model of this book and the knowledge of experts from various countries, we apply it to small and medium-sized enterprises such as the bicycle industry and metal processing industry to help enterprises build a smart manufacturing structure.

The main development axis of the Lean Smart Manufacturing Laboratory takes lean manufacturing as its main body, integrating existing automatic machines and equipment, improving manufacturing performance and collaborating with the smart machinery industry to cultivate talents. The Lean Intelligent Manufacturing Laboratory focuses on the cultivation of technical personnel with lean management in smart machinery and attempts to promote the development of the application of lean management in enterprises through industry-university collaboration. In November 2020, it became a practice field for the Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA iPAS Smart Production Engineer Competency Evaluation. At present, the Lean Intelligent Manufacturing Laboratory carries out curriculum planning based on the lean manufacturing concepts and application tools required by the industry. Through systematic and structural technical planning, the laboratory provides the industry and students the opportunity of understanding the concept of lean manufacturing. In addition, it can guide the practice of lean manufacturing systems, as well as the application of related tools. Moreover, the laboratory also uses the practical field to simulate the production mode of an enterprise for actual case teaching, so as to shorten the gap between the learning and application of lean manufacturing technology. This allows a quick application of the lean manufacturing technology to related practices, so as to improve the manufacturing process, reduce waste and increase the profit of the enterprise. At present, the lean manufacturing management system of the Lean Smart Manufacturing Laboratory has been applied onto students’ practicum and industry-university collaboration. In the future, the laboratory will continue to expand the smart manufacturing technology and integrate the lean manufacturing management system in order to complete the construction of a simulated factory of the Lean Automation System with the smart machinery industry as its main body.
