Chih-Hsin Chen (陳志欣), received his Ph.D. degree in chemistry from National Taiwan Normal University in 2006. He worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Academia Sinica, Taiwan between 2006 and 2007 then moved to the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, National University of Singapore as a research fellow from 2008 to 2011. He is currently a professor and chair at Department of Chemistry, Tamkang University, Taiwan. He also serves as the chair of ACS Taiwan Chapter.
Prof. Chen's research interests include liquid crystal-based sensors and organic materials for optoelectronic applications.
Design, synthesis and applications of functional organic molecules for chemical sensors, biosensors, OLEDs, OPVs, DSSCs, PSCs, biomedicine…etc.

Skill sets or Qualities
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in advanced synthetic techniques such as Schlenk line, glove box, vacuum line operations
- Expertise in spectroscopic (NMR, IR, UV-Vis) and diffraction (XRD) techniques for compound characterization
- Knowledge of electrochemical methods (cyclic voltammetry, etc.) is an advantage
- Ability to perform theoretical calculations (DFT, etc.) to complement experimental work is preferred
- Experience with catalysis testing, gas uptake/release studies is beneficial
