Introduction

Yen-Chen Yen is an assistant professor in the Department of Business Administration of National Taipei University of Business, Taiwan. She received her Ph.D degree in Graduate Institute of Information and Computer Education from National Taiwan Normal University. With a strong passion for innovation in education, Dr. Yen focuses her research on game-based learning and the use of gamification in business education, particularly in areas such as brand management, omnichannel management, and marketing. Her work aims to bridge the gap between traditional educational models and the dynamic demands of the modern business world by leveraging interactive and experiential learning methods to foster deeper student engagement and real-world application.

The Innovative Learning and Gamification Lab (ILGL) is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of business education through the integration of game-based learning and gamification strategies. We explore how these innovative approaches can transform traditional learning models, particularly in fields like brand management, omnichannel management, and marketing. By fostering a dynamic, interactive learning environment, ILGL empowers students and professionals to acquire practical business skills in a fun, engaging, and effective way. Our mission is to design and research cutting-edge tools and strategies that enhance educational experiences while addressing real-world business challenges.

  1. Game-based Learning in Brand Management
    Investigating how immersive, experiential learning environments can enhance understanding and application of brand management principles in real-world scenarios.
  2. Gamification in Omnichannel Management
    Exploring the potential of gamified strategies to train students and professionals in managing seamless customer experiences across multiple channels.
  3. Marketing Education through Digital Game-based Learning
    Developing and analyzing gamified simulations that teach marketing strategies, consumer behavior, and digital marketing in an interactive and engaging way.
  4. AI-driven Personalization in Gamified Business Education
    Examining how artificial intelligence can personalize game-based learning experiences for diverse learning styles and business fields, particularly in brand and marketing education.
  5. Effectiveness of Gamification on Business Problem-Solving Skills
    Assessing how game mechanics and challenges can improve critical thinking and decision-making skills in business contexts.
