Introduction

Ming-Yi Lin received the master’s degree from Yuan Ze University, Taoyuan, Taiwan, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from National Central University, Taoyuan, in 2016.,He was an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Chinese Culture University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 2021. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Yuan Ze University. His research interests include embedded systems, smart sensor networks, and AIoT.

Welcome to the Intelligent Systems and Automation Technology laboratory! Our mission is to integrate artificial intelligence into various devices, not just limited to computers. In our lab, we refer to these AI-integrated systems as “Machine Intelligence,” which can be applied to a wide range of devices, from large-scale equipment like smart factories to small wearable devices like sports watches.

The Intelligent Systems lab focuses on embedded systems, which serve as a crucial pathway for product realization. Our research extends beyond specific technologies or domains because we emphasize using our system design methodology to support research and product development across various fields.

We maintain close interactions with industry, particularly in the realm of embedded systems. Our work encompasses not only embedded software development but also hardware design, including IC design, and the integration of software and hardware. These technologies find applications in diverse industries, making our lab a multidisciplinary research center.

At the core of the Intelligent Systems lab lies a unique research methodology—a structured process for problem-solving and system design. This methodology enables efficient academic research and product development. It covers various aspects, including software, hardware, algorithms, and IC design, utilizing languages such as C, Python, and technologies like FPGA and MCU.

Our research areas span a wide spectrum, including robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), human-computer interaction, smart manufacturing, precision medicine, and personalized education. AI technologies play a pivotal role in each of these domains, demonstrating how they are seamlessly integrated across diverse fields.
