Introduction

- I was born (in 1978) and grew up in Kaohsiung (Taiwan).

- I studied chemistry at the National Sun Yat-sen University, in Kaohsiung (Taiwan), where I obtained my Ph.D. in 2004, under the supervision of Profs Chi Wi Ong. My project research was dealing with the development of methodologies with organoiron complexes and applied these organoiron complexes to perform the total synthesis of natural products .

- I then moved toTaipei as postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Chung-Yi Wu at the Academia Sinica (2007-2010). I worked there on the total synthesis of polysaccharides.

- I did my second postdoc in the The Scripps Research Institute, Scripps Florida with Prof. William Roush. I investigated there the reactivity and selectivity in reactions involving boron compounds.

- Since August 2013, I have worked as the Assistant Professor at Chung Yuan Christian University.

-Since February 2019, I moved to National Chung-Hsing University in Taichung as the Associate Professor. In 2023, I was promoted as the Full Professor in the NCHU.

Our research group conducts research in the fields of organocatalysis focusing on the development of novel (asymmetric) processes using organocatalytic methods. The aim of our research is to get a better understanding of reactivity and stereoselectivity in organic chemistry, by using both experimental and computational means, and apply these results to the development of innovative strategies in synthesis, allowing ultimately for the efficient synthesis of pharmaceutically relevent compounds.
