Prof Ya-Ting Chen is working in the Department of Seafood Science at the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. She earned a Ph.D. degree from the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology in 2021 at the Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology. She has research expertise in molecular biology, food chemistry, and aquaculture. She is currently focusing her research on the impact of microplastics on marine ecosystem sustainability and evaluation of the functionality of natural substances or by-products.
Our laboratory primarily engages in research related to the sustainable development of marine environments. We assess the harmful effects of microplastics on marine ecosystems using marine animal models, making significant contributions to marine environmental sustainability. Additionally, we continue to explore the functionality of natural substances using cell and marine animal models, evaluating their roles in various physiological, immune, and antioxidant functions within marine organisms
