Polymeric Materials Laboratory
Research Field
Dr. Yu-Wei Cheng received his PhD degree from the Institute of Polymer Science and Engineering, National Taiwan University. He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), Taiwan. His research has primarily revolved around the synthesis of functionalized and environmentally friendly polymers, as well as the development of optimized Raman-enhancing nanoparticle arrays for the detection of small molecules. His recent work delves into the creation of manipulated metal nanoparticle arrays on both 2D and 3D and flexible substrates. These are intended for multifunctional smart sensors and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) applications, with findings published in the highly ranking journals of chemistry and physical fields. He has published approximately 41 SCI-indexed journal articles and has gotten a h-index of 15 according to the citation report from Google Scholar.
Our lab focuses on the research related to polymer synthesis, which covers the preparation of functionalized polymeric materials and its application in bio-detection sensors, wearable sensors, antibacterial materials and so forth. Currently, the projects that being emphasized are:
