Laboratory of Organometallic Chemistry and Mechanochemistry
Research Field
Ching Tat To received his B. Sc. degree (2010) and Ph.D. degree (2015) in chemistry from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) under the supervision of Professor Kin Shing Chan. After 3 years of postdoctoral training (2015–2018) in Professor Zhaomin Hou group at RIKEN, he then returned to CUHK as a research associate in Chan’'s group (2018–2019) before he accepted an assistant professorship at the Tunghai University (2019–2024).

Our research focuses on the design, synthesis and reactivity study of organometallic and organolanthanide complexes featuring a metal-perfluoroalkyl bond. We aim to understand the reactivity and mechanism experimentally and with the help of theoretical calculations. In particular, we engage in homogeneous reactions, flow reactions and pressurized reactions. We are also interested in chemical reactions of these metal complexes under the action of ball milling.
