Introduction

Dr. Yen has a background in nursing, health behavioral science, and gerontology. He integrates nursing, health promotion, and smart technology in his research. His expertise includes physical activity, digital health interventions (VR, wearable devices), mental health, and recreation therapy. Our team’s primary focus is on health behavioral science, particularly in the areas of physical activity and health promotion, with a specific emphasis on adult populations and community-dwelling older adults. The research team named “Physical Activity & Technology for Health (PATH.LAB).” The goal is to apply various smart technologies, including smartphone apps, social media, wearable devices, virtual reality, augmented reality, chatbots, and social robots, to design innovative interventions. The overarching objective is to achieve healthy behavior modification, mental health promotion, and non-communicable disease prevention.
