Introduction

Dr. Wan-Yu Liu, a distinguished professor at National Chung-Hsing University, is renowned for her expertise in environmental management, ecosystem services, and natural sustainability. With a robust background in agricultural economics and finance, Dr. Liu has made significant academic contributions in understanding the intersection between environmental science and economic policies. Her research emphasizes the valuation of ecosystem services and the role of natural resources in sustainable economic development. Dr. Liu’s scholarly impact is evidenced by her extensive publication record, which includes more than 40 papers in SCI-indexed journals, with 12 appearing in the top 10% of journals in their respective SCI sub-fields. Her work has been published in leading journals such as Forest Policy and EconomicsClimatic ChangeEcosystem Services, and Urban Forestry & Urban Greening, establishing her as a leading figure in her field and significantly enhancing Taiwan’s international academic visibility and influence. Dr. Wan-Yu Liu’s outstanding academic contributions and leadership continue to shape the fields of sustainability, ecosystem services evaluation, and natural resource management, driving innovative solutions for environmental challenges globally.

Our lab is a welcoming and vibrant community where passion for forests intersects with research in socio-economic, policies, and nature-based climate solutions. Under the guidance of our bilingual principal investigator, who is fluent in both English and Chinese, we foster an inclusive and collaborative environment that encourages creative exchange of research ideas.  We invite interns from around the world to join us, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow both professionally and personally.
