Research Field
Hsin-Te Wu earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from National Sun Yat-sen University.
In 2013, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Management at Ho-Chun Institute of Technology.
In 2015, he joined the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Penghu University of Science and Technology as an Assistant Professor.
In 2020, he became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Ilan University.
In 2023, he was appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Taitung University.
Dr. Wu has published a total of 46 SCIE and SSCI journal papers. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Information and Computing. Additionally, he has served as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Big Data and Analytics in Healthcare and as a Guest Editor for Special Issues in the Journal of Supercomputing and IET Networks.
Dr. Wu has secured 15 research grants from the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), 9 industry-academic collaboration projects, and 21 Ministry of Education (MOE) projects. His research expertise includes Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and Network Communications.
Currently, Dr. Wu serves as the Director of the International Affairs Center at National Taitung University and is actively collaborating with medical institutions, research centers, and enterprises on research projects related to smart healthcare, intelligent behavior analysis, and large language models (LLMs).
The AI & Blockchain Lab is affiliated with the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Taitung University and is led by Associate Professor Hsin-Te Wu. The lab is dedicated to exploring innovative applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain technologies.
Our research spans various fields, including smart healthcare, smart cities, smart agriculture, smart manufacturing, supply chain management, fintech, and cybersecurity. Through academic research, industry collaboration, and international technology exchange, we strive to drive the real-world application of AI and blockchain technologies. Our goal is to cultivate innovative, interdisciplinary, and globally minded technical professionals, enabling students to learn and apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.

- Explainable AI (XAI): Enhancing the transparency of AI decision-making to improve credibility and interpretability.
- Fair AI & Bias Mitigation: Ensuring AI decisions remain unbiased and are not influenced by factors such as race, gender, or geography.
- Privacy-Preserving AI: Integrating Federated Learning and Differential Privacy techniques to safeguard data security.
(2) Blockchain Privacy & Security
- Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP): Developing decentralized identity authentication and privacy protection technologies.
- Smart Contract Security: Strengthening the security of smart contract applications in blockchain-based finance, healthcare, and supply chain management.
- Decentralized Identity (DID): Implementing secure digital identity solutions for smart cities to ensure personal data privacy.

This role focuses on enhancing patient support within a smart pharmacy environment through digital health tools, personalized medication guidance, and health education strategies. Students will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between pharmaceutical care, nutrition, and patient self-learning resources by leveraging data-driven insights and interactive educational materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Side Effect Guidance & Risk Mitigation:
- Analyze and explain the potential side effects of prescribed medications to patients in a clear and understandable manner.
- Develop strategies for side effect management, including lifestyle adjustments and complementary nutrition plans to reduce discomfort.
- Ensure patients understand the importance of medication adherence and proper dosage.
Personalized Nutritional and Wellness Recommendations:
- Provide nutritional supplement suggestions that can help counteract specific medication side effects or improve overall health.
- Explain the scientific rationale behind supplement choices, emphasizing their role in disease prevention and symptom relief.
- Customize recommendations based on individual patient needs, medication regimens, and dietary restrictions.
Digital Health & Educational Content Development:
- Design interactive patient education materials, such as informational videos, infographics, and digital guides, to support self-learning.
- Curate reliable online resources, including medical websites and pharmacy-supported health platforms, to guide patients toward accurate health information.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to develop customized learning modules for patient education.
Pharmaceutical Data Organization & Smart System Support:
- Assist in organizing pharmacy-related data, ensuring seamless access to medication information for both patients and healthcare professionals.
- Support the integration of AI-powered smart pharmacy systems by improving patient education strategies through data-driven insights.
- Contribute to the enhancement of digital pharmacy platforms by refining user-friendly interfaces for medication guidance.
