Introduction

Professor Jui-Ming Yeh is the Mentor of the intership plan.  Professor Yeh’s PhD dissertation was concentrated on the studies of conducting polymers, sol-gel materials and organic-inorganic hybrid materials.  After about four years, he finished his Ph. D. degree in 1996.  Subsequently, he backed to Taiwan and spent approximately two years (1996-1998) as a researcher at industrial technology research institute (ITRI) to develop novel polymeric surfactants and to explore practical applications of silicone-related rubbers and resins.  In 1998, Professor Yeh entered chemistry department of Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) as an assistant professor.  In the following five years, he concentrated his research interests on the preparation of polymer nanocomposite materials through effectively dispersion of different morphological nano-fillers (e.g., nanolayered clay, silica nanoparticles, carbon nanotube and gold nanoparticles) into various polymeric matrices and further developed novel applications, especially in anticorrosion coatings.  He had promoted to associate professor and full professor at chemistry department of CYCU in 2002 and 2005, respectively.

Recently, the organic-inorganic hybrid materials (OIHM) Lab contains 4 PhD students and ~ 20 Master students and ~ 20 undergraduate students.  The research key points of OIHM are focused on the preparation of distinctive type of materials such as nanocomposites (containing nano-clay, graphene, Mxene, biomass carbon), biomimetic materials, electroactive materials, and self-healing hydrogel materials, which may be applied in different fields such as anticorrosion coatings, anti-bacterialcoatings, electrochromic window, supercapacitor, electrochemical sensor, gas sensor, photo-catalyst, bio-scaffold, tissue engineering, low dielectrics, and photonic waveguide,etc..

Research Topics

Electroactive aniline oligomer-based epoxy/MXene composites with hydrophobic biomimetic structure for advanced anticorrosive coating application

Honor

He had promoted to associate professor and full professor at chemistry department of CYCU in 2002 and 2005, respectively.  Up to now, his research career (since 1994) has generated ~ 230 internationally renowned SCI journals, of which 55 are highly quoted articles (data obtained by google scholar) and have been cited a total of ~11,000 times. In terms of paper influence: Experts from Stanford University released a “World's Top 2% Scientists 2021” through Scopus' paper influence data, with more than 7 million people from around the world Among the scientists, the top 2% of the world's top scientists are selected. Professor Yeh Ranked in the top 2% in the field of “polymer”.

Educational Background

Professor Yeh was born in Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, R. O. C. on November 14, 1964.  He finished his bachelor and master degree at chemistry department of Fu-Jen Cathodic University, Taiwan, in 1988 and 1990, respectively. In 1992, he went to Drexel University at Pennsylvania State of American to pursuit his Ph. D. degree in the field of material chemistry under the supervision of Professor Yen Wei.
