Introduction

Dr. Tsung-Rong Kuo received his PhD degree in Chemistry from the National Taiwan Normal University in 2011 and then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taiwan and the Department of Chemistry at University of California (Berkeley). In 2015, he joined the Graduate Institute of Nanomedicine and Medical Engineering at Taipei Medical University as an assistant professor and was promoted to professor in 2022. Currently, he is the director in International Ph.D. Program in Biomedical Engineering and Graduate Institute of Nanomedicine and Medical Engineering at Taipei Medical University. His recent research interests focus on preparations of nanomaterials including metals, metal oxides and semiconductors for the applications in nanomedicine and energy conversion.

Professor Tsung-Rong Kuo's laboratory at Taipei Medical University specializes in the study and development of nanomaterials with unique properties and diverse applications. The lab investigates the synthesis of nanoparticles, nanocomposites, and nanostructures for the applications in nanomedicine and energy conversion.

With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, the lab integrates knowledge from chemistry, physics, and engineering to tackle complex challenges in nanotechnology. Researchers employ state-of-the-art characterization methods, including electron microscopy and spectroscopy, to gain insights into material behavior at the nanoscale.

Professor Kuo is dedicated to mentoring students, providing hands-on research experiences that prepare them for careers in academia and industry. The lab's recent achievements include innovative developments in energy storage and biomedical applications, positioning it at the forefront of nanomaterials research and advancing technologies that address global challenges.
