Dr. Hsu is an Investigator at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Nanomedicine at National Health Research Institutes (NHRI) in Taiwan, and holds adjunct faculty positions at the Institute of NanoEngineering and Microsystems of National Tsing Hua University and the Ph.D. Program in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine of National Chung Hsing University.
Dr. Hsu's research activities are centered about the development of microfluidics technologies for cell biology and medical applications in cancer, stem cell, and regenerative medicine. The long-term goal of his laboratory is to turn microfluidics into enabling tools to improve medicine and healthcare.

Dr. Hsu received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Washington in USA, and worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School prior to joining NHRI.

Job Description
This job is related to the development of a microfluidic chip-based system to grow patient-derived-organoids for personalized medicine. The intern will be guided by a senior research scientist to assist microfluidic device fabrication, cell culture experiment, and results analysis. Our research lab is equipped with photolithography (in a class 1000 clean room), PDMS molding, and CNC machining facilities for fabrication, and tissue culture facilities and fluorescence microscopes for cell experiments. The preferred internship duration of this job is 3 months. The staring date is 2024/10/01.
