Ping-Shan Lai received his B.S. in chemistry from National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) in 2000. He received his Ph.D. from National Taiwan University under the supervision of Prof. Cheng-Yi Wang in 2006, before completing a 6-month postdoctoral fellowship at National Chung Hsing University. After conducting 3-month research at the University of Tokyo in Japan as a visiting researcher, he officially joined Chung Hsing University as an Assistant Professor. He has worked as a professor since 2015 and as a division chief of the Center of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NCHU) from 2014 to 2017.

His research interests mainly focus on developing functionalized nanomaterials to resolve clinical problems, including the early diagnosis and treatment of cancer, drug resistance...etc.

The laboratory has advanced equipment to assist researchers and students in carrying out their projects from in vitro to in vivo research. Students are encouraged to find their research interests and form logical research thinking. From there, they are divided into teams according to their research orientation. 

There is a weekly meeting to report to Prof. Lai about each member's research progress.
